Mr. Hom is an intelligent, hardworking, and skilled individual who is ready to meet the legal challenges faced by today’s clients. Mr. Hom brings with him a diverse background in technology based on a solid foundation in physics and studies in computer science and electrical engineering. He specializes in the area of intellectual property law and in particular the preparation of patent applications.
Mr. Hom was a summer law clerk for Judge David. J. Folsom of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. His responsibilities included researching and drafting bench memorandum of law and court orders, and discussing evidentiary issues, privilege issues and trial tactics with the Judge and other law clerks. Mr. Hom also gained valuable experience in dealing with internet domain name disputes through his work at the University of San Francisco Intellectual Property Law Clinic.
Mr. Hom spends his free time by volunteering within the local community. To list a few, from 1997 to 1999, Mr. Hom served as the San Francisco Chinatown YMCA Camp Saturday Coordinator, where he organized events to enrich the lives of inner city youths. From 1999 to 2000 he tutored children in arithmetic, reading and writing. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Hom volunteered at the Asian law Caucus’ Immigration Clinic, where he assisted staff attorneys in solving clients’ legal issues.
